Stephen C. Mancini
California Certified Family Law Specialist Mr. Mancini was born in Washington, D.C. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature from Occidental College in 1980. He attended Pepperdine University School of Law and the University of La Verne School of Law where he received his Juris Doctor degree in 1985, and was a member of the Law Review. Mr. Mancini was admitted to the State Bar of California and the United States District Court in 1986. Mr. Mancini is also a member of the State Bar of Washington D.C. and of the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Mancini served as a Judge Pro Tempore in the Los Angeles Municipal Court from 1988 to 1990. He has served as an adjunct professor of Tort Law, Advanced Civil Procedure, Trial Advocacy, Family Law, and Criminal Law and Procedure at Merit College from 1990 to 1994. Mr. Mancini is currently, in addition to his practice, a professor of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and Criminal/Civil Practice at the University of West Los Angeles School of Law. With respect to criminal law, Mr. Mancini has tried more than 40 criminal jury trials and more than 500 arraignments and preliminary hearings. Mr. Mancini has represented clients in misdemeanors ranging from domestic violence, theft, and DUI’S to felonies involving burglaries, robberies, and homicides. With respect to Family Law, Mr. Mancini is a Certified Family Law Specialist and has prepared and appeared at more than 250 Requests for Orders regarding issues of child custody, visitation, child support, spousal /support, attorney fees, and other orders. Additionally, Mr. Mancini has litigated more than 350 dissolution cases not only involving custody and support but division of property issues resulting in final judgments. Mr. Mancini has also handled step-parent adoptions, grandparent visitation rights, and pre-marital and post-marital contracts. With respect to Family Law matters, Mr. Mancini has arbitrated more than 50 cases and mediated more than 100 cases, as well as trying more than 50 cases. Mr. Mancini focuses his practice in the areas of criminal defense and family law.
